Redda (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a children's story app built for multilingual families. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
The short version: Redda does not require an account, does not show ads, does not sell data, and does not track your children.
By using Redda, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 No Account Required
Redda does not require you to create an account or provide any personal information. There is no sign-up, no email collection, and no login.
1.2 Device Information
We collect minimal technical data to keep the app running smoothly:
- Device model and operating system version
- Crash logs and basic performance data
This information is anonymized and cannot be used to identify you or your family.
1.3 On-Device Data
Your language preferences and reading progress are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you delete the app.
1.4 Payment Information
If you make a purchase, it is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information.
2. What We Don't Collect
To be clear:
- No names, email addresses, or account information
- No location data
- No contacts or photos
- No browsing history or behavioral profiles
- No advertising identifiers
3. How Stories Are Created
Redda's stories are translated and narrated before they reach your device. When a story is published, we use third-party services (DeepL for translation, ElevenLabs for narration) to produce content in 28 languages. This happens during the publishing process, not while your family uses the app.
No user data is sent to these services.
4. Children's Privacy
Redda is designed for families with children and is intended to be managed by a parent or guardian.
To protect children:
- We do not collect personal information from children or adults.
- The app includes a Kid Mode that limits access to settings and purchases behind a parental gate (Face ID or PIN).
- No ads, no tracking, no behavioral profiling, no social features.
- No user-generated content.
This app is designed to comply with COPPA (U.S.) and GDPR requirements for children's data (EU/EEA).
5. Data Storage
All user data (language preferences, reading progress) is stored on your device only. We do not operate user-facing servers or databases. Story content (text, images, audio) is delivered from our content servers and may be cached on your device for performance.
When you delete the app, all local data is removed.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone. We have no data to share.
The only third party that processes any transaction data is Apple, through the App Store, if you make a purchase.

These services are used to create content, not to process user data.
8. Your Rights
Since we don't collect personal data, there is typically nothing to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we have inadvertently collected any personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will note them here. The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the most recent version.
